Fiber optic attenuators are used to reduce the signal strength through a given fiber optic cable by a certain level. AFS’s most popular sellers are the Fixed Value attenuators, meaning that they reduce signal to a certain extent, and nothing more. For example, a 15dB attenuator will reduce to signal up to exactly 15dB, and nothing more. This allows for precision when dialing in the signal strength passed along the fiber.
